Assault on the Billy Rubins and other Happenings
Isaac is doing quite well, adjusting to his life at 53 Hancock St. The grandparents are an amazing, invaluable help, being one of the many reasons these first few days at home have been the happiest of my life. Saying something like that is usually hyperbole, but in this case it is a drastic understatement. Isaac is just great. He does have a bit of jaundice, but that is perfectly normal for a 3 day old baby. We are doing whatever we can to fight back those evil billy rubins, including regular meals, taking him out on his first trip (to Target, ho hum...), and going for his second walk.

There are some pictures that I just have to share. He has been so expressionate (yes, I know the word is expressive, but still...)

This is the "Robert Goulet" (note the pencil-thin moustache and the well groomed hair)

Here is the Man himself:

Notice all of the similarities.

And then there is this:

Thanks to Bonnie Howard for the super cute outfit. Baby robots for our lil' rapper.

That's all for now.

DeLuise
I could write about a million things about Isaac and being a Dad, but I don't have a whole lot of time. So I will keep it brief. There is a bakery in Rhode Island, DeLuise Bakery, near Bianca's Mom and Dad's house that has the best donuts in the world. Here is a write up on the bakery (it being a real bakery, they don't have time for things like websites, they are busy concocting delicious treats). Anyway, it became something of a tradition over the past eleven years that mornings when we would wake up at Bianca's Mom and Dad's house Big Dom would run and get all four of the men (me, Big Dom, Little Dom, and John) a chocolate iced donut from DeLuise. On the day after Thanksgiving, for example, there would be four deep fried rings of beauty crowned with the most sugary delicious icing imaginable awaiting all of us. In seconds they would be gone. No talking, no looking at each other, no TV, just donuts.

So when Myles was born I brought a DeLuise with me and took a picture with him. And when Isaac was born, Big Dom helped out and brought us four chocolate crowned jewels, making sure the tradition continued.

This was the result:

Welcome to the world little guy. The best donut ever awaits your teeth and your mommy's permission. They are friggin' awesome.

Isaac Comes Home
Around 12:30 today we were discharged from the hospital and we were able to take the little guy home. While the people at UMass Memorial were nice, it was time to come home. The bed felt so nice, despite the fact that I cannot sleep. Even a hint of wimper is enough to catapult Bianca and I from bed, despite the fact that my parents, Nanna and G-Daddy, are here and doing a wonderful job helping out and taking care of us and Isaac.

Here are some more pictures:

And to think we thought it was going to be too small.

Here is one with his grandma Nanny:

And finally one with Sarah, Bianca's friend from work (and Isaac's first accent, Cheerio, Pip Pip):

More to come, including the DeLuise donut picture. Trust me, it is awesome. More pictures have been added. To see them all click on the link in the right hand navigation bar.
