Isaac and Vitamin D
Isaac's pedi told us to give him some Vitamin D drops, not because he is sick or anything, but just because breastfeeding babies sometimes benefit from a little extra Vitamin D. After getting one that smelling like T-Gel shampoo (and apparently tested like it too, he HATED it) we found a D drop that smells and apparently tastes like red licorice and since he is my son, that is about the best taste in the world.

Here is the mad man going crazy for his D drops:

Chief Mate on the Dirty Turd
Well, Capt Stinkeye has gone through a long and complex deliberation process and has chosen his Chief Mate for the Dirty Turd--it is I Neck Beard the Pirate!

Here is a picture of the neck beard, along with a clingy Cap'n Stinkeye:

The schedule of taking care of Isaac has left a few things in the dust--sleep, shaving, going to stores, and plans of any sort. We have become retired people, looking forward to going to the doctor, eating dinner at 4:00, and awaiting the mail with giddiness that was previously reserved for a Red Sox World Series victory. It also allowed me to cultivate my most extensive neckbeard since college. For more on neckbeard see here (some swearing in the web site, but really funny).

But the slowed down time has also been a huge boon. It has allowed us to really get used to being parents. Nanna's presence has been an indescribable help, giving us a few minutes to ourselves and a few extra winks of shut eye. I feel like I am being given the time to adjust to what is undoubtedly the most comprehensive life change I have ever experienced.

So I will take the impulse to find the Early Bird special, if I also get to sit with my boy on the Man Chair while listening to the Red Sox.

Big Pedi Visit
We met Dr. Julia Feudo today, Isaac's pediatrician. She delivered all good news: Isaac is up past his birth weight--7 lbs .4 oz to 7 lbs 10 oz. He is also longer 20.4 inches to 21.25 inches. Dr. Feudo has the two single most important qualities in a pediatrician--realism and a calming demeanor.

Last night was a tough one, Isaac did not want to go to sleep until about two hours after his feeding and he was not latching well. But all went well this morning with the feeding, so really it was probably fussiness. And then the good news at the doctors...

In a hope to catch another roll over, I recorded part of Isaac's tummy time. But this time he got a little sleepy, as you can see below:

Also the bean bag chair for Isaac's room arrived, thanks to the Grandparents, yesterday. It was from a Xenia company called Bean Bag City, and despite the seventies photos on their site, it is a really high quality item. A bean bag chair is perfect for lounging in Isaac's room while he is eating.

Here is a funny picture of Isaac in the chair:
