Change the Calendar, Change the Kid
Well, it is August and Isaac is going through some major changes. First, he has all but moved out of 0-3 month clothes. The few remaining things that fit were the most ginormous of the 0-3 month stuff. Today he is wearing a 6 month onesy and it looks perfectly fine. Isaac has also started to alter his napping. Not really changing the times so much as changing when they end. Nothing consistent enough to say: "This is what they will be" but still he is changing. He also has continued to sleep through the night, though that too is a little different. That first streak of five nights, he did 9 to 6 AM, which was really nice. Now he is doing a more 9 to 4:30-5. Not as nice, but still pretty darn good. The trade off is that he sleeps from 4:30-5 until like a rock. He has also started follow stuff, giggle, coo, cluck his tongue, and make a whole host of noises that were not made even a week ago. He can easily support weight on his legs with Mom or Dad there for balance. He is starting to get some major neck control too. Not like "following a tennis match" neck control, but pretty darn good for a not quite yet two month old. Here is an example of him tracking and being deliriously happy about a mobile:

Finally, he is using his legs to express his emotions, with a few vigorous leg kicks when he is either really happy or really sad. His emotions have become more pronounced. Instead of sleepy, not sleepy, and crying we get happy, sad, sleepy, excited, mellow, and a few others. Mellow is the funniest. Here is a good picture of mellow:

Some funny photos
We have been adding a lot of photos to the Flickr page, so just in case you missed them here are some funny ones.

This is called Sheik Isaac:

We took this one while out on one of our front yard picnics. The sheet blew over his head and this resulted. It was too funny not to snap a picture of.

This is what we call Isaac's monkey face.

He makes this face when he is really excited and occasionally it is accompanied by some monkey-like hoots.

Here is one where the weight of his jowls overwhelmed the strength of his tiny baby neck:

Here is a funny one. Look what Mommy found in the laundry!

Then there is this picture where he is wearing my booty socks, though on him they look like the stripper boots the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders wear:

Then there are these, which make the BP Gulf blow out look like nothing special:

and an even bigger one:

Isaac's Visit to New Hampshire
Yesterday we took Isaac to New Hampshire to visit with the people of the Nashua Public Defender Office where I work. He met lots of folks: Lefty and Laurie, Bonnie, Sarah Morgan, Sam, Laura (x2), Trisha, Soudie, Lorraine, Cheryl, Michael, Paul, and Melissa. He had a very good time. After that we went to a local restaurant, Peddler's Daughter, a simulated Irish Pub in downtown Nashua, and had our first dinner out with Isaac. It was delicious. It was chosen, in part because of the great ketchup (which has nutmeg in it), but also because it has shaded, riverside outdoor seating. We able to eat outside next to the Nashua River. All in all, Isaac was very good for everyone, even falling asleep as Bonnie held him.

We made it home in time, not disrupting is incredibly precise schedule even a little bit. He slept well, falling asleep for his 1:30 nap without any prompting whatsoever. We were playing and then all of a sudden he put his head on my shoulder and started giving me a good baby snore. He also put himself to bed last night being fully awake after Bianca fed him. And finally, he slept until 5 AM, giving us 8 plus hours of solid sleep.

He is a really good kid. And he stays in shape too. Check it out:

His workouts have had their intended effect as he is moving out of the 0-3 month old clothes. Yesterday there were two outfits that were just too small and today he is wearing his first 3-6 month onesy. He looks like a big kid.

Also there are some new pictures up, including this one, which is probably my favorite Isaac picture of all time:
