Saturday afternoon, after the walk through Coggshall, we decided to get Isaac a swing. Dad used his old rope-swing-in-Wildlife skills and by sundown Isaac had a good little swing. It hangs from a branch which is about 25 feet off the ground meaning that it has a lot of swing to it. Isaac LOVED the ride. All Sunday morning we were out there pushing him. We also had pancakes this weekend, all of us, including Isaac. It was the first time we all shared a meal and it was great. Isaac really liked them, as you can see:

And finally, Isaac helped us clean the cars on Sunday. He really liked sticking his hand in the vacuum, so I thought he might like a FlowBee style haircut. As it turns out, he thought it was really funny. Not as funny as me, but still he liked it:

While we have not had the Noah's Ark type flood that Nanna and G-Daddy have had, it has been pretty rainy here for about two weeks. Yesterday and today seem like the only non-rain days for a while and today is still slate gray. But yesterday, well yesterday was awesome.

Isaac made his official return to Coggshall Park and there were all sorts of creatures out for his little eyes to feast upon. We saw probably 50 or so turtles, though Mr. Snapper did not show his ugly head. We also saw tons of water birds--swans, Canadian Geese, and mallards. Finally we got a really good shot of a Northern Water Snake, the largest indigenous snake in Massachusetts (up to 4 feet long!). It is not poisonous, so Dad and Isaac ventured in for some footage. We were more than 15 feet away and very quiet so we did not even attract its attention. Here it is:



When we came home we did an outside day, working in the yard and the pool mostly. It was a great day, as the sun was perfectly warm--not too hot, not too cold. We also fired up the new lawnmower and it worked well. Isaac was thrilled, like screeching his head off THRILLED about everything--the weedwacker, the lawnmower, everything. So Dad and Mom put Isaac in the adventure suit (aka the Kid Backpack) and took him along for the mow. Erica said that she mowed their much larger yard with Colby in their adventure suit. Let me tell you, it is a heck of workout. Dad was dripping with sweat and Isaac screeched every minute of the entire yard (which, fortunately, isn't too big). Here is a shot:



Isaac also had to wear his hat because of the sun. He hates it being in his eyes because he can't look around at stuff, so we came to a compromise: Pirate Isaac. Here is a shot:

Isaac has really changed how he plays with his Duplos. He used to just put them in his mouth or kick around in a big pile making lots of noise. He still does that some, but now it is a lot of bulldozing or disassembly. If I put something together, he takes it apart. Last night Bianca was building a little square building and he would wait for her to go look for a piece and then take some off. She would put them back and add some new pieces and then go look again and the process would repeat. It was quite funny.
