Great Weekend or Bluhhhh
It was a low key weekend as Dad continued to recover from labrynthitis. Almost there, about 98%. On Friday night we stocked up on essentials at Target. While there, Isaac and Dad had a great time as the carts are deep enough to allow Isaac to stand at the end. See here:

Saturday we did some fall/back to school shopping and Isaac was great. We were without the stroller because of a flat tire and yet we still managed to stroll around and have a good time. Isaac and Dad entertained passers by as Isaac was doing his Steve Martin impression from Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

Sunday was a real treat as Poppa Dom came up and we hung out in and by the pool. Isaac was in the 67 degree water almost the entire afternoon. Then we had some tasty grilled food and finally we all went out for ice cream, yum....

To sum up the weekend in Isaac's own words it was a strong "Bluhhhh!" which is what he says when he is really excited.

Have a Bluhhhh Monday.

Eight Steps and a perfect evening
So Isaac, as you know, is walking now. He is really funny to watch, too. He gets so worked up, literally bouncing on the balls of his feet, and then he starts going, but he does so stiff-legged sort of like a really, really excited Frankenstein. And right now his record is around eight steps. Super awesome.

Tonight with the blazing summer sun still hanging tough in the sky I came home, dropped the monkey suit and Isaac and I took a dip in the pool. It was the first time in two weeks when I felt pretty darn good and Isaac Anthony and I playing in the water was awesome. As we did Mom, recognizing the need for some Isaac playtime, made dinner while her two boys bobbed around in the water. That will mend just about whatever is broken, let me tell you.

Let me say this to all of those that don't know Bianca as well as I do--the woman is a rock. She was awesome this entire two weeks of hospital and doctors visits and feeling crappy. I am convinced that the smartest thing I ever did was marry her and I'd do it again, EVEN more emphatically this time around, in a heartbeat. She is the best.

Do the Evolution
It is funny that as a parent you look forward to things happening--like your kid taking his or her first step--and then when it happens it is part of a cavalcade of new things, one after another. Last night, probably to help his old man feel better (still lagging) Isaac both fed himself with a spoon AND took his first real steps. Here is the video evidence:

Also, at Poppy's 95th birthday party, Isaac gave a blessing to his cousin:

Peace be with You, Colby:
