Isaac has been working on his spoon skills for a while, but last night he fed himself dinner entirely on his own. There were a few swoops in for messes, but almost all of food to mouth was done by the I-man. Here is a quick clip:
Bianca put it so well last night: for a long time you have this little package that you love and want to take care of and then all of a sudden that package becomes a little person. That has definitely happened with Isaac. He has his own little personality, his own likes and dislikes.
Yesterday we were getting him dressed and were still doing a load of his clothes. We had his dino shirt out but not the matching pants. Instead we went with another shirt (a lion shirt, so it wasn't like a boring wimpy shirt), but he wanted no part of it. He even started crying, like real tears crying. We couldn't figure out why. So we asked him and he went over and grabbed the dino t-shirt and tried to put it on. We helped him and once the t-shirt was on we got a nice growl and no more tears.

So every night before going to bed Dad and Isaac read a little then Mom and Isaac read a little. Isaac and Dad usually read from either an animal encyclopedia, a whale encyclopedia, or a dino encyclopedia. All of them have great vibrant illustrations and tons of info. About a month ago Dad would make a snapping noise while holding his hand like a pincher. Isaac soon followed and we had a little snapasaurus everywhere.
Well on Monday morning Bianca went into get him and he revealed the hidden greeting of the Secret Order of the Dino Claws: a snap, snap with pincher hands. And now that is how he greets us. Snap snap.
