Digital Masterpieces
Isaac's exploration of the iPad has taken all sorts of interesting twists and turns.  Here are a pair of masterpieces made using the Elmo App's digital finger painting:

This one is entitled "Elmo and Existential Anxiety: A Heideggerian Commentary on the Being of an 20 Month Old":

I told Isaac that sounded a bit pretentious, but he was insistent telling me "no, no, no...".

Here is the second work, entitled: "Hungry, NOW!" which is a bit less complex and more to the point:

Isaac told me he modeled his use of primary colors after Kandinsky, but hoped to capture some of the fluidity of Picasso or Pollock in his strokes.  I told him his grandparents would love it either way.

Isaac HATES Gloves
Isaac loves to be outside doing just about anything.  Unfortunately, it has been cold and so he has to wear his gloves.  At school they go outside almost everyday and everyday Isaac has to put on his gloves.  The teachers say it is a real struggle for him to keep them on.  They have found ways to fasten them on so they don't come off, but it is really an arms race.  Recently they figured out a way to tuck in the velcro strap so that once it was on he couldn't pull the strap and undo the gloves.  Stymied but not defeated, Isaac went over to the fence that separates the little guys from the bigger kids and asked one of them for help to undo the gloves.  Before an accomplice could be found, Isaac's little scheme was discovered and stopped by the teachers.

I want him to wear his gloves, of course, but as a Dad I am impressed with his craftiness.  I only can hope he forgets to be this crafty when he is a teenager.

Retro Cute Kid
Here is a picture of Isaac all decked out in gear Nunni made for me:

The hat was one of my very favorite winter items and I even used to wear it with my own personal sense of style--flipped up in the front and down in the back, making me look like a Whooly Pirate.  The knit hoodie is also a Nunni-made item and I wore that when I was about 2-3 years old.  They have both held up amazingly well and are a testament to Nunni's handiwork.
