Big Boy Swim Lessons
Isaac recently graduated from toddler swim lessons where I was in the pool with him to big boy swim lessons.  I am not in the pool with him and he hangs on to the side of the pool doing various swimming activities.  He has had two lessons and it is amazing to see the transformation.  He started out being unable to even get in by himself and now he is kicking and bobbing along like a little fish. This past lesson he even accidentally went under and while Dad was totally freaked out he was fine. A few coughs and he got back in no problem.

Here is a video of him doing his big boy thing:

Balance Bike Big Boy
A powerful obsession with motorcycles got Isaac back on his balance bike for the first time in a while, but this time instead of trolling around the backyard, he has taken to the street.  He has really got the hang of how they work and he is even going down pretty substantial hills all by himself.  Every night Dad and Isaac will go out on bikes and just go up and down hills.  Last Saturday night he did the best he ever has, even though it was only his third real try on the bike.  It is stunning how fast kids learn things.  It would be like showing up to your third French class having translated Candide.

Train Table Buddha
Two weekends ago Poppa Dom and GG came over and we all had a great time.  We got nice steaks from a local butcher and grilled them up.  Mom made some salsa verde from the CSA food.  We hung out and the weather was quite nice.  Towards the end of the evening we all congregated in the train room and played with trains.

Isaac was especially thrilled by GG's idea of adding a small squeeze style flashlight to the top of the trains to make them have headlights.  And after a dessert he decided that his chocolate covered clothes were an encumbrance he was unwilling to tolerate.  Here he is, the Train Table Buddha in nothing but underwear:

We were glad that Poppa Dom and GG arrived and everyone had a great time.
