Isaac and P-Pa's Car
Combing through the photos of the Grandparents last trip out I found this spectacular gem:

P1000833

It shows the two buddies looking at a C7 Corvette video.  P-Pa liked the car and Isaac liked the noise, the car, and P-Pa's reaction to the car.  Unforunately for Nanna, it seems like an inevitability at this point.  Some time in the next few years Isaac will be riding in a Corvette driven and owned by his P-Pa.  Remember this picture.  Its where their mutual admiration for America's Sports Car began.

And sorry for the post Nanna.  This picture was too cute.

The End of Spelling
When Nanna and P-Pa were here two weeks ago something really amazing happened.  We had been out and as we got home Nanna suggested we watch a movie.  But because she was unsure about whether or not he'd be allowed, she spelled it.  She actually did quite a bit to disguise the question saying:

"What about a M-O-V-I-E?"

The words "watch" or "see" were never used.  None of the normal movie-related nouns were used.  Instead it was just a generic what about question.  But curiously Isaac piped up and said "Yes, I want to watch a movie."  It was clear as day.  He got it.  He indisputably understood that the letters M, O, V, I, and E spelled movie.

After they left he did it again, again recognizing the word "movie" when spelled out.  He can do it with "iPad" (which is not too complex, as the spelled word sounds a lot like the said version of the word; curse you Apple and your line of iProducts).  But then he did it with other words too like "cookie" and "treat".  Slowly but surely we are losing our ability to communicate in secret in front of Isaac and while it is definitely more inconvenient, we are both super proud of the little guy.

Red Apple Farm, 2013
Bianca and I have been going to Red Apple Farm in Phillipston since before we had I-man.  It was a quick jaunt into the country, an antidote to living in the city or worse yet the highly gentrified suburbs.  Since I-man though it has become an event, in part because of the kid and in part because of the massive improvements Red Apple has made to their place.  This is agri-tourism at its finest, just before it crosses over into amusement park territory like what happened at the fun but no longer farm-y Kimball Farms (home of the oft-discussed bumper boats).

We arrived on the most perfect of fall days, a crisp blue sky greeting us with ample sun and a pleasant 50 degree jacket required day.  We immediately started off towards the rows of Golden Delicious at the far corner of the farm.

Like the trees this year the apples were spectacular.  Here is a good shot of them glistening with morning dew:

Isaac found apples at his height because there were apples literally everywhere, all virtually perfect and all juicy and delicious:

After picking apples we played in a giant sandbox.  Isaac loved it because there were so many old toys and so few kids.  He even found a small kid sized spade and did lots of digging.  Being a Tony No Butt, he showed off his wears every time he went for a big scoop of sand:

After the sandbox we picked pumpkins:

and had some lunch, which was quite good.  We went on a tractor ride and fed some animals as well.  It was a great fall day at Red Apple.
