Hard at Work
Isaac had two big jumps recently and they happened at the same time.  First, his hand eye coordination has gone through the roof.  This is in large part because he is writing more.  But this has spilled over into other things.  For example he has much better skills at building things with legos.  But that improvement coincided with his jump in attention span.  Now he can entertain himself, when he feels like it, for an hour or two.

This past Sunday Isaac and I were building and I realized he was doing something that I do when I focus.  See if you can find it.  Also note how fast he is making building decisions, switching pieces or changing their orientation.  Here he is at work:

He is pretty darn amazing.

To Open or Not to Open
Like most people we have almost stopped shopping in person, instead preferring to shop from the comfort of home.  This means that we get a lot of packages.  I also happen to get quite a few review samples for my other blog and so we are almost inundated with packages.  Most are things we can't open and very few are for Isaac (or are for Isaac and can be opened immediately, especially right now with Christmas less than a month away).  It has caused great consternation on Isaac's part and so I put the question to him: open or not; know or not:

As The Dry Leaves that Before the Wild Hurricane Fly
It was bone chilling cold this weekend, that kind of wind that seems to slice through your coat no matter how thick and bulky.  But we had work to do.  There was a lot of leaves that had just fallen from Isaac's oak tree and it was time for us to finish the fall yardwork.

While Bianca raked I played with the I-man and made us lunch on the camp fire, probably one last time in 2013 (my how time flies).  It was our favorite--Annie's Organic Spagetthi-os.  Nothing is better than fire roasted Spagetthi-os, right P-Pa?  As I was doing that the I-man was hanging out with me by the fire and, on occasion letting one fly into the wind, i.e. peeing.  Here he is, checking out his work:

He also enjoyed his tassle hat, seen here making him look like a cute little Swedish kid:

But that was not the best part of one of our final days pre-snow. It was sharing a meal with him under the fort at his picnic table. Here we are scarfing (and I mean scarfing) down the eats:

That's the kind of smile any Dad would love to see.
