There is something really magical about seeing the boys admire each other.  It gives me a sense that even after I am long gone they will have each other.  It also gives me a sense of how strong the bond is between siblings.  Nothing, I think, makes a parent as happy as seeing their two kids really enjoy each other's company. 

With Isaac and Ethan, there is no doubt--Ethan's hero is Isaac.  No one can do what Isaac can do.  So when he gets a close up look at his brother, his idol, well he just lights up.  Here is what I mean:

Whenever someone mentions rolls with Ethan, it is usually in reference to his ginormous legs.  He has some seriously beefy thighs, as demonstrated by a photo I like to call--Butt Crack or Thigh?

Well, there are now different kinds of rolls to reference.  First, Ethan has been rolling front to back for some time.  I have never seen it, but both Bianca and Isaac claim to have witnessed the event, and I trust them, so I am a believer.  But even if I wasn't, last night at dinner, he convinced me.

So we are all eating dinner, delicious Taco Bowl, one of I-man's favorites, while Ethan is working out in his gym.  He is cooing and being a delightful baby.  I finish early so I join him on the ground.  While there, he lifts up his legs then lets them flop over to one side.  With that momentum, he then swings his arms around and suddenly he has rolled back to front, the much more difficult roll for a baby to do. 

We all gave him applause, including Isaac, and Ethan just smiled back at us, proud of his accomplishment.

Do you know who Ryan Mallett is?  No?  Well, he was the third string quarterback for the New England Patriots.  Unfortunately for him, he was the guy behind the guy who was behind Tom Brady.  He got no love at all.  

Ryan Mallett, I feel your pain brother.  When we are all four together and three of us are watching Ethan I am Ryan Mallett.  

Pretty much anyone is going to be the dim bulb next to the Isaac spotlight.  Ethan tracks Isaac like a cat watching a laser pointer.  In fact, it gets so bad that sometimes Isaac will feel bad and stand right next to me so I can get some "collateral" glances.  Other than that I get nothing.

Then there is his best girl, Bianca.  The sun rises and sets, literally, with her.  She is his food, his companion, and his comfort.  She guards him from his rambuncious brother and makes sure he is on his schedule. 

Compared to that, I am, well the sound effects guy.  Or the diaper change guy.  

Like I said--I am the third string quarterback.  But its an awesome gig and I wouldn't give it up for the world, or a shot at starting for the Houston Texans, Ryan Mallett's new team.
