Christmas Break with G-Daddy and Nanna
Christmas Day around 6-6:30 the grandparents arrived. Isaac was toddling about in the dining room when the jingle bells on the door jingled. At first he didn't really react, but when he saw them in the kitchen he went ballistic. It was close to his bed time so they really just saw him take a bath and go to bed, but Isaac knew that a week of fun and excitement lay ahead and had no real interest in going down to sleep. Mom said it was one of the toughest put downs he has ever had, and it was for good reason--he was right, we had a blast.
The next morning we exchanged presents and Isaac had a blast. He was perfect. He would open a present, play with it for about 20 minutes and come back for more. He also showed off his presents from Santa and Auntie Monica and Uncle Rob. Their growling, roaring, and howling triceratops was a huge hit. He also got some Schleich toys from his GG and Pap. He particularly loved the turtle, perhaps because he can say "turtle". Here he is showing his prized animal to his Nanna:
Isaac also got an iPad, well technically the whole family got an iPad, but I would like to see Isaac learn how to interface with technology on the device as it is very easy to use. He already knows that the bezel button stops whatever is going on and messes up the screen.
Christmas is always nice, but the days after were spectacular. We did a lot of hanging out. We went to our old stomping grounds, Coggshall Park. The day we went it was tremendously cold. Here we are surveying the freezing lake:
We went home after on 10 degree lap.
Later G-Daddy, aka Tony Pizza, arrived. Even without his pizza oven, he makes one spectacular pie. Perhaps it is because of his assistant:
We the icy wind left, we all got in Subbie and drove down to Waldon Pond, one of the nicest walks in the entire world. Isaac had a ton of fun teasing Nanna with dangerous antics.
We all had a good time on the walk, but something tells me the grandparents had the most fun:
We went to the Ecotarium in Worcester which was a lot of fun. They had a large Africa display with massive stuffed animals, but it was the buttons that Isaac liked the most. After each day we'd come home and Bianca would have a feast of a meal ready for us. Sometimes Isaac liked it, sometimes, well, he gave us lizard tongue.
After that we had some desserts and G-Daddy and Isaac had a good time eating them, even if Isaac wasn't exactly the cleanest kid in the world:
It was a great visit and Isaac noticed immediately when they were gone. We are looking forward to February already.
