Bye, Bye Love You
Isaac and Mom routinely hunt for cool beep beeps on the way to and from school.  One of their favorite finds is a dump truck, which Isaac calls a dump dump.  Yesterday while going in, they spotted an extra large dump dump and Mom dutifully caught up to it.  Isaac marveled at its size and appearance, gave a few fist pumps, and shouted "beep beep dump dump."
As it passed out of sight, he became a bit despondent and sad.  He waved goodbye and told the dump truck: "Bye, bye beep beep, love you."

It WAS a dump truck after all.

Wild Playground Kid
Isaac's coordination is improving as fast as his language skills.  One day he can't do something, the next he does it with ease.  It is really shocking to see.  So when we went to our local favorite playground for the first time this year, Isaac went nuts.  He climbed up everything and slid down every slide.  He even walked up them (with Mom or Dad's help).

But with great power comes great responsibility.  Isaac's coordination improvements have not been accompanied by improvements in his risk assessment.  The boy will run, tackle, or climb just about everything.  As a result he has as many bruises and cuts as he had when he was first learning to walk.  It is brutally painful to watch him collect these tokens of daring, but whenever you ask if he is okay and wants to go inside, he shakes them off and keeps going.  If he didn't, then we know he'd really be hurt.  Here he is at the playground with his battered nose from a week ago:

Those in the Know
Every once in a while we will meet people that clearly have little guys in their life.  Last weekend the guys that were doing the field maintenance on St. Bernard's baseball diamonds clearly fit the bill.  Isaac saw the gleaming green and yellow John Deere tractor coming from about a mile away (he has very good beep beep radar by this point) and when it came to a stop he ran over.  The guy driving was super nice and set up the tractor so Isaac could climb aboard.  He told us he had a little guy too.  Here is Isaac thrilled to pieces on a beautiful spring day atop an awesome John Deere tractor:
