Ethan's doctor, in response to our questions, told us that many of the quirks we have noticed are simply the result of one thing--babies are weird.  Its true. They are really weird.  They sleep while doing aerobics.  They stare of into space like a stoner.  But the thing Ethan does that is probably the most weird his Angry Birds grunt.  

If you have played even a second of Angry Birds you will know what I mean.  Its the noise the pigs make when they are awaiting bird bombard meant, sort of like Hmmm...Hmmmm...Hmmmm.  Well, Ethan Beethan makes that exact same noise.  It is usually when he is hungry, but on occasion we will just hear a little Hmmm...Hmmmm...Hmmmm from him for no particular reason.  Its adorable because everything he does right now is adorable.  After all, he is just about the size of a bag of flour.  Its also weird because, well, babies are weird.

Well, after a full blood draw, Ethan is out of the jaundice woods.  His bilirubin counts are normal.  There is a curiosity in some other stuff in his blood, but the doctor did not seem worried.  We will have everything sorted out next week after a blood test. 

Ethan has already surpassed his birth weight by quite a bit, clocking in at a chubby 8 pounds 9.5 ounces (Bianca insists on the .5...its her hard work after all; I was going to write handiwork, but it is not exactly her hands...).  He has a big head and has grown two inches already, making him a towering 1 foot 9 inches.  The doctor was pleased with his eating, sleeping, and growing and since that is all he does, he ran the table.

He has also been more awake, coming out of the newborn slumber in the past two days.  He has been very awake for tummy time and during his awake time.  He has also taken to the Babywise schedule well.  Finally, he has displayed a great deal of head control and tonight (Wednesday March 25) he rolled over.  It was more a head toss where his body followed, but it was a roll over. 

Good stuff.  Now if he could just work on that STTN thing.
